Day 1: Overnight Flight

Absorb the idyllic charms of England on this journey that includes three of its most scenic rural areas. Enchantment awaits as you travel through the Lake District, Cornwall and the Cotswolds.

Day 2: Manchester, England - Tour Begins

Your tour begins in Manchester, largest city of the Midlands and the engine of the Industrial Revolution. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner.

Day 3: Manchester - Liverpool - Lake Windermere

This morning, travel to the great port city of Liverpool. Spend time at the restored Albert Dock complex, exploring one of the many museums such as the Tate Liverpool Gallery, Maritime Museum or International Slavery Museum. Enjoy a visit to the award-winning Beatles Story as you learn about these famous “Merseysiders.” Travel north to the scenic Lake District and your hotel on the shores of Lake Windermere. Settle in for a relaxing two night stay.

Day 4: Lake District

Enjoy a full day exploring the magnificent Lake District, England’s most popular area of bucolic beauty. Stroll through the picturesque village of Grasmere, once home of and inspiration to the romantic poet William Wordsworth. Sail Coniston Water aboard the Victorian steam yacht Gondola*. Take an afternoon break in Bowness before returning to your hotel on the water’s edge for an evening at leisure.

Day 5: Lake District - Stoke-on-Trent - Great Malvern

Head south en route to England’s rural heartland. Make a special stop to visit the fascinating Wedgwood China Visitor Centre for a tour of this working factory. Next, travel to the city of Worcester where you will stand in awe of the majestic cathedral. Complete your day in the spa town of Great Malvern. Here, your hotel affords you magnificent views across the English countryside.

Day 6: Cotswolds

Relax during a leisurely day touring the Cotswolds region. Begin with a trip on the restored Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. Watch the vistas open up from this classic steam train** as you enjoy an authentic English Tea. Next, pay a visit to some of the region’s charming villages such as Broadway and Stow-on-the-Wold. Return to your hotel with time to relax and explore the town during an evening at leisure.

Day 7: Great Malvern - Bath - Glastonbury - Plymouth

Stop in the ancient Roman town of Bath - renowned for more than 2,000 years for its spas and natural hot springs. Visit the Roman Baths Museum to see the elaborate spas, valued since Roman times for their curative properties. See the reputed grave of King Arthur when you visit the ruins of Glastonbury Abbey, once the richest monastic community in England. Travel to Plymouth for a two night stay.

Day 8: Cornwall

Explore the “sunny southwest” of England as you spend the day in Cornwall. Visit Tintagel, believed to be the site of the original Camelot Castle. Next, drive the coastal road to Padstow, a charming fishing village replete with shops and restaurants. This afternoon, visit spectacular Lanhydrock, one of Cornwall’s most impressive estates, to explore some of its 50 rooms and stroll the magnificent grounds. Conclude your day with a trip into the old town of Plymouth. See where the Mayflower Pilgrims set sail and enjoy time at leisure to dine in one of the many fine restaurants and pubs.

Day 9: Plymouth - Salisbury - Stonehenge - Windsor Area

Travel across some of England’s most beautiful country on your way to Salisbury. Enjoy time in this bustling market town and pay a visit to the famous Salisbury Cathedral which boasts the tallest spire in Britain. Finally, no trip to the English countryside would be complete without a visit to mysterious Stonehenge, a center of spiritual activity since prehistoric times. Tonight, join your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner as you toast the conclusion of a wonderful trip.

    Day 1: Windsor Area - London

    Leave the countryside of England behind as a private transfer whisks you to your hotel in the heart of the bustling city of London. Upon arrival, the remainder of the day is available for you to begin your independent exploration of London.

    Day 2: London

    Spend a full day at leisure exploring this astounding capital. Enjoy the use of your included hop on-hop off sightseeing pass. This pass is your gateway for two full days to see such sights as the Tower of London, the British Museum and Westminster Abbey. Or perhaps you will choose to purchase a guided tour to one of the nearby attractions such as the world-famous Windsor Castle - your friendly hotel concierge will be happy to assist you in making arrangements.

    Day 3: London

    Today is at leisure to pursue your individual interests. Perhaps you’ll stroll through Covent Garden, soaking up the vibrancy of London life; visit St. Paul’s Cathedral; eat fish and chips in a local pub; experience the pomp of royalty as you witness the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace; or simply watch the world go by from a sidewalk café.
